Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy
The Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy exclusively offers outdoors-focused, design-forward accommodations, including cabins and boutique hotels, in destinations near national parks, deserts, ski areas and shorelines. Armed only with a word mark created by their internal team, Marriott turned to us to build the identity for their newest brand.
Drawing on the nostalgia of the campgrounds we grew up in, we created a brand identity that felt both familiar and aspirational. The color palette was inspired by hues found in nature, and was designed to represent the range of unique natural surroundings in which properties are located. Typography was chosen to feel warm and familiar, yet functional and contemporary. The custom logo mark was inspired by trail signs, and custom icons were illustrated using organic line work. All of these elements are paired beautifully with a custom curated library of striking photography representing modern outdoor adventure.
My Role
Launched in late 2025, I led the creation of the Outdoor Collection brand identity. The result was a distinctive, emotionally resonant brand with a streamlined, adaptable system that has scaled seamlessly across thousands of curated locations.
